I moved a year ago, the new tenant in my old house ordered £1000 worth of stuff from a catologue.
I got the bill because I was getting my mail redirected.
I rang and I think ive got it sorted.
But still offers od credit came through in my name to my old adress.i rang and sent back the freepost envelopes saying I was no longer there bla bla. Told all my companys I was here etc.
Do these companys CHECK my names record to see I moved a year ago if the next tenant does fill in a Yes id love a £10,000 loan?

Charliecat - they'll be using old mailing lists and it can ages for your name to be removed - if they bother at all. If the tenant at your old address applys in your name they would usually check the electoral roll to confirm that you do actually live there. Make sure you are on the Roll at your new address. You need to ring the council for that.

Also apply to the Mail Preference Service (google it - think it's MPS Online)to get you name removed form mailing lists. Again that can take ages. You can do this for your phone aswell to cut down on cold callers.
