Life insurance

can anyone recommend a decent life insurance company pls? And roughly how much should we be paying for two mid-30s adults, non-smokers, no adverse medical history, coverage for £350k? We have just moved house and need to sort out an increased amount, but not sure if our old policy is good value anymore or not

Thanks!

Go on one of the price comparison sites to get an idea of costs, they have calculators on them.

Then go talk to a broker - they can tell you the difference between types of policies, and which one is best for you.

If you go to an insurance company, they can only advise you on their own products. A broker deals with several companies, and will get a cut from the company you eventually decide to go with. As the companies all fight for the broker's business, the broker can pick the best deal for you which will still pay them. Some brokers will charge you a fee up front as well (usually if you are doing a lot of business and need a lot of advice), so check their charges before deciding who to deal with.

Remember, even though you have no adverse medical history that you know of, if something comes up during the medical checks, the new cover might end up being more expensive. So don't cancel your old cover till the new cover is in place.
