I am currently seriously condidering leaving DH but have no idea what benefits i might be entitled to as a single mother and if I could manage. I have 2 ds's aged 2.5 and 1 and I work 4 hours per week. Can anyone tell me what I might be entitled to?

im also looking into this. you need to get advice from your local citizens advice bereau. cab. hv might be able to direct you to housing matters. but depends on what your and your dh joint income is. and whether you can get out of it.
so for example, dh has me down on his paperwork as working for him. aand apparently he pays me dividends as well. f knows how i am going to get out of that one.

Would you continue to work ? You may be entitled to Working tax credit, family credit. Your family allowance would go up slightly. If your on a low income then you could be entitled to housing benefit and poll tax. Best to check with your local council.
I would get in touch with CAB.

thanks - maybe I will call the CAB for some advice. Thanks again.

You need to work 16 hours for working tax credit but you may get income support if you work less to top up your income. You would get child tax credit of about £75 per week or more if you claim disability benififts for either of the children as long as your income is less than 12000.
If you did work for the 16 hours, as long as your inomce ws less than 15000 per year you would also get help with you child care costs of about 80% after april.
Think child ben will only go up by something silly like 10p
