Hi everyone,
I am looking to see if anyone can answer my dla enquiry as im getting diff info from dla. I applied and was refused so appealed and got awarded last month low rate mobility and care. I adked them to look at it again as i didnt agree with lower rate. Was told firstly decision maker would look at lower rate and if he/ she thought it shouldnt change it would go to appeal. I called for update and lady said papers were sent for appeal and when i said i thought decision maker would liok at it again she said she could put referral to them? can anyone confirm procedure please.

thank you

That's right. First time you ask them to look at it again (even if you send a GL24 appeal form) they pass it on to a new decision maker, what they call a reconsideration. If you ask them again they send it straight to appeal whether decision had been changed or not.
At this point you can ask them to withdraw the appeal or go to Tribunal. Bear in mind that Tribunal can take it away altogether. Another option is to withdraw appeal and then request a change of circumstances form in a few months time.
Good luck Smile
