hi i was wondering if anyone could help spoke to bank this eveing and ran through recent payments etc to get a up to date balance on going through the bank mentioned a payment going to Hmrc 5 pounds every two weeks i was :0

I havent had a letter saying about this its been going on since 0ct !!!!! we pay cash to pay bills etc and few direct debits so really dont go through bank statments as i should (i know lesson lerent) was wondering what it could be
as i pay csa monthly and thats clearly says csa on statments

the only thing i can think it could be would be a gap in my national insurance though i do work but didnt for 6 months but began work in april 2010 after doing studing and been a single mum on benfits etc (work for a angency so work is up down etc ) but surly i would of had a letter plus in oct i called hmrc as i was on wrong tax code (changed angency over christmas) and pretty much been in full time empolyment up to june address up to date etc as i told them in oct anyone got any clues ? i do have a student loan but dont earn enough to pay it back. the bank has given me a phone num so will phone in morning but paincing a bit

many thanks

I wouldn't think it was anything to panic about - you have obviously been affording to pay it for the past 9 months Smile

If its a mistake it'll be a nice little amount to get back, although I would have thought with you having changed some details with them around the time the DD started that they have a verbal agreement from you for setting the payment up for something. You're certain there wasn't some tax owed due to being on the wrong tax code? You must have given them your bank details!

I think if you call them tomorrow it should be easily resolved.

Thanks for replying no aggrement ref bank details they didnt askfor them the reason for wrong tax was because they put me onto br as thought it was a second job as the angency was slow at sorting p45. Its odd though hope for a answer cos its bugging me :)

Sounds like they have you down as self employed. Self employed NI contributions are roughly £5 every two weeks.

Did you ring them unicorn? What did they say?

unicorn72 · 27/07/2012 19:45
