Yesterday I was listening to the radio and a single dad with one daughter working 16 hours a week said that his (presumably) WTC had been reduced.

I am a single mum of one and work for between 16 and 20 hours a week, self employed. I just completed my TC renewal form and this year's income is £5894. Last year's was about £5700. I have disability element and lone parent element.

Has anyone heard of payments being reduced in a perfectly straightforward claim like mine (and I guess his)?

The criteria are hours worked and income received. Single parents' minimum hours stayed at 16 whereas couples now have to work longer between them (which is fair). So the single dad you were listening to must either be earning too much or not single. Your claim should not be affected.
