Declaring a bit extra

Hi

I earn through PAYE. I've been offered £150 for a bit of work outside my main job. I don't want to register self employed for that little bit (unlikely to be more). How do I declare it? (being paid through a public body so will have to be legit, although most of it will go on my expenses to do the work).

Thanks in advance for help

If you fill in a tax return put it in 'Other Income' (there is a box next to it for related expenses), if not then write to HMRC with the facts once you have received payment.
