Tax Rebate

How will I know if I am due a tax rebate? Is this done automatically or do I have to find out for myself?

I've been on mat leave since September 2011.

Ring your tax office adn they may issue you with a self assessment return. You should have had a P11D/P60 form your employer for the tax year ending in April 2012 which will show your salary/maternity pay, what allowances were claimed and tax paid under PAYE.
