hi. i am on income support because i have a disability. recently i took in my 17 year old sister and now claim child tax credits as she is in full time further education. what i can't find out is how much can she earn this summer without the tax credits being affected and will my income support be affected as she obviously isn't my child? thank you x

It will depend on the wording of each benefit, as her income may well count as "household" income given that she lives in the house. You should discuss your benefit entitlements with your benefit officer, to see how your sister living with you will affect them for better or worse.

She can work up to 24 hours as long as still in full time education at the same time before it effects your tax credits here
