Dh had a mothercare store card yeeeeaaaaarrrrrrs ago. He had ppi which he didn't know about at the time. Since then we defaulted and went onto a dmp which included the sore card.

Anyway we filled out the fos questionnaire and they confirmed they received it beginning of April. Since then we've had 3 letters to say they are looking into it - I thought it would be pretty straight forward claim. It's been over the 8 weeks the have to look into it so I was considering going to the ombudsman (I know this will cost them £500 ). Has anyone gone to the ombudsman and how long did it take and what happened??

mbna took from May till September last year to sort mine sent me the standard update letters as set out in their guidelines but then paid me back £3k without any questioning! I work for santander and they are changing the system at the moment regarding complaints etc, I took one of my ppi claims to ombusdman in February and its still not sorted!

Going back to your post blushing I am paying debts back through cccs. I think I may have been mis sold ppi on credit cards/ store cards. Can you try to claim it back then even though you've defaulted? I've only got a years worth of payments left on my dmp so if I was entitled to some money I could pay the plan off! Hooray!

Yes mortgage ones seem to be going through quite quickly but credit cards claims taking longer my card was a Bradford and bingley card through mbna (I used to work for Bradford And bingley before Santander bought them)
