I went onto confused.com for a car insurance quote for DH. We've used them before no problem.
The AA came up as a good deal (tho not the cheapest) and it said on confused.com's summary "breakdown cover included". When I clicked on to accept the quote the AA's own summary page also said "breakdown cover included". Accepted quote and paid money.
Then the sales calls started. The AA says breakdown cover ISN'T included and it's an EXTRA £8 a month! Also the £150 excess on the quote has turned into a £200 excess. Had the quote said this then I'd have gone for one of the cheaper quotes. It was only a good deal with the breakdown cover and the lower excess.
Confused.com used to keep full details of the quotes it supplied but they've changed their website so it now just says quote expired. I do have their email of prices offered and the AA one says breakdown cover included and quotes the price I am paying but i don't know if they'd accept this as proof. Incidentally the lowest quote on my own renewal back in December included breakdown cover, so I don't think it was unreasonable to believe this would too.
I've emailed confused.com. is there anything I can do? Isn't this mis-selling?
