PPI claim-over 6 years

I've been reading the PPI thread with great interest and I'm pretty sure that I've had loans and cards with PPI.

However, these would've been over 6 years ago when I was younger and a bit naive as to the whole PPI thing.

I've got no records of these loans and cards but I can vaguely remember who I had them with.

What's my next course I'd action? Fire off a load of letters and see what happens? So far, phone calls have been fruitless and is there any point as it's over 6 years?

If you have no record, no account numbers and only a vague recollection of who they were with you may struggle to make a claim. Letters may work. All you have to lose is the price of a stamp.
