Have you gifted your life insurance policy into trust?

I haven't done this yet, but reading on moneysupermarket.com it sounds like a good idea. Anyone know if there is a good reason not to do this?

It can be done by asking for the correct paperwork from your insurance provider. IFAs should ask if you want this but in my experience they rarely do. it is a good idea as it means monies get paid out more quickly. There other benefits too.

Yes, I did it some years ago. I took out two policies which I hope will go some way towards paying Inheritance Tax which will be due on the value of my house, and they have been written into Trust for my daughters. It was very simple, as Biscuits says, it's just a form to be completed. I keep all the paperwork together, with my Will and a list of my (laughably small) assets.
