not even a mention on the box that it isn't fitted with a UK plug

I know I can take it back tomorrow - but is it legal for them to do it?

Isn't it a shaving plug? My phiilips irrigator came with one fitted for a shavers plug, I dont have them fitted in my bathroom so I bought an adaptor for about 49p, you're right though it didnt say anything on the box.

They all come with plugs like that IME. My epilator did too. I don't think it's uncommon, you can very easily buy adaptors for them.

Most toothbrushes come with a shaving plug, which are the same here as they are in Europe.

From amazon www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Sonicare-HX7351-Electric-Toothbrush/dp/B0000DINOB

Fitted with 2 pin plug for use in bathroom shaver socket.

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 01/05/2012 21:57

My toothbrush has a shaving plug I thougut that was the norm as. I didn't think you could have a regular 3 pin socket in a bathroom

Seona1973 · 01/05/2012 21:58

all the electric ones we have bought have the 2 pin plugs - just buy an adaptor (they are not expensive). Shavers are the same

Mrsfred · 01/05/2012 21:58

It's a two-pin shaver plug so you can recharge it in the bathroom.

Slambang · 01/05/2012 22:00

yes - you're confusing European and bathroom plugs. It would be illegal for them to sell you a bathroom electrical item that had a UK main plug socket

happyAvocado · 01/05/2012 22:04

thanks for all your replies - I wish they said that on the box - I don't have this type of the socket in my ancient bathroom :)

I was looking forward to clean my teeth the lazy way tomorrow morning - but must be patient :)

I think you need a rewire, op!

oreocrumbs · 01/05/2012 22:15

I have just bought an adapter from amazon for 75p with free delivery to go on my new tooth brush! I didn't realise either Grin
