Second job

I work 15 hours per week (2 days) it's good pay £20 per hour approx) but in a job i would dearly love to get out of before much longer. If i took a second job for say one day per week at approx (£8 per hour) as a way of looking at alternative options- would I be taxed a hue amount on it. Would I pay more tax than if i took on another day in my current job?
Just looking at my options...

You would pay tax on all the money you earn from the second job, but if you increased your hours at the current job you would also pay tax on all the extra as you are earning over the tax free threshold so shouldn't make too much of a difference either way!

No, you will pay the same amount of tax as you would taking on another day in your current job but you would not have to pay National Insurance in the second job until you earn £146pw, saving 12% of your additional earnings up to that amount.
