No it didn't happen my solicitor phoned this morning to check when the funds were going to be sent and they say they never received the report on title so she faxed it over to them then rang them again and they said they had got the fax & the hard copy that was in the post. a condition of the mortgage was for the solicitor to certify copies of my passport & marriage certificate (never changed passport) then they phoned and said they couldn't accept it as I had been married for over 3 months they wouldn't accept my driving licence as it had my old address on it. so we pulled out today and got the keys for somewhere to rent.

I'd had enough and it would have taken too long to get my driving licence changed. also my dh is doing a late shift next week & needed to closer to his work as it would have taken him about 3 hours to get home where it will now take just over an hour
We are going to rent for a few years then sort a mortgage out when we have our finances sorted out properly as the mortgage was an interest only with a stupid rate but the rent is cheaper than the mortgage was

Sorry it came to this, but I would be willing to bet it is making some people in the process, sit up and take notice.

I think it has happened for a reason. It wasn't meant to be from the start really we first offered on it in August but then our house didn't sell so both went back on the market then we managed to sell ours offered again on that then got stuck with all the problems with the mortgage - I feel sorry for the people we were buying from as they had sold all their furniture & stuff as they were down sizing!

yes it feels like a huge weight has been lifted! especially as we weren''t that keen on the mortgage because of the high interest.
we are now just going to pay off our debts with the deposit then rent for the next few years while our credit rating can improve and we can save a new deposit.
I just can't beleive how badly things were dealt with at the mortgage company

I think you have just made the best decision of your life, house prices are falling by at least 20% and it will continue, save like mad for the next 12 months and this time next year you will be smiling all the way to your lovely new home.
