Anyone know how long they take? Am now getting Carers Allowance which was done in a week!
IS though have had the application for two weeks now and I've heard nothing.

Just wondering as am running out of money.
Have enough for £20 of petrol and same for electric. Have enough food for another week
and £10 for milk etc.

Does it usually take much longer than 2 weeks?

It can do. Might be worth giving them a ring to see what is happening - its possible they are waiting for more info from somewhere or that letters have gone astray.

You can ask about interim payments and when you are running out of money/food then you can apply for a crisis loan and there may be a food voucher schemne where you live - but at the moment you have funds available so they would expect you to use those first.

Thanks for that Starfish, useful to know. I had £350 two weeks ago but Gas money has come out, water bills, electric, petrol and a top up for council tax initially. It doesn't leave much Grin.

Ah well, I will survive

I'm in a similar situation cod, been waiting 2 weeks for IS to do something with my form, I'm thinking the easter break will have delayed everything by at least a week though. I found that tax credits were much faster so at least I have some money coming in. Hope you get something through soon.

Apparently it takes 14 working days to process so am looking at 23rd April for it to be fully processed.

Sooo - having seen the thread where the OP was stressing about £140 to last until the 18th I think I might have more of a wobble about £40 to last until the 23rd!

Thank goodness I have food in the house. I need to do £15 petrol and £10 electricity.

That will leave £15 until 23rd, might be just doable.Smile
