PPI claim question

I claimed back in Jan and had a letter dated 6 Feb saying they were looking into it and one of their customer relations team would be in touch, also said that they aim to deal with it within 8 weeks and if not I could contact the Ombudsman. The 8 weeks was up on 2 April so I waited patiently but heard nothing so rang them today. I was told it was completed quickly and a letter was sent beginning of March but I obviously haven't received it. He said he can't tell me the decision on the phone but will send another 2nd class letter out today.

I am now wondering if the reason it was completed so quickly and without anyone contacting me is that they have refused it although I think I have a good claim. Also if the letter is refusing me do I only have a certain amount of time to contact the Ombudsman as obviously a month has passed and I haven't done anything as I never got the letter!

I bet I don't get a letter before good Friday so it will be next week before I know and its doing my head in!!!

Based on what I've heard from the media, backed up with the experience of friends who have made successful claims, I don't think you are going to be refused. They have so many claims coming in that most companies are rubber-stamping them and paying out straight away rather than argue the toss. If you think you had a good claim then I think you can be optimistic.

Thank you for replying. I got a letter today but it was dated 29 March asking why I hadn't replied to their offer letter at the beginning of March so I now know I am getting something! Just don't know how much! Judging by the post I won't find out until next week but just paid £226 for my car to get through its MOT so hope it covers that!

Another success story and I can't believe how easy it was!
