Tax credits have stopped with no notice and no warning, rent due tomorrow

My tax credits were due 4 days ago. I checked my account this evening (sadly after 8pm!) and noticed they didn't go in. Rent is due tomorrow. I am over £200 short. I have already arranged to borrow money from my husband (separated), but -

why?! I haven't moved house recently, not changed jobs, nothing has changed in fact apart from DD turning 3. So what's going on? Panicking slightly.
(Will obviously ring them first thing tomorrow morning, was just hoping for some advice before then so I don't have to keep fretting all night. Although I will anyway!)

Haven't received a letter by the way, so this is completely out of the blue.

New income limits on tax credits come in on April 6th. If your income is over £26,000 and you have one chid (or over £32,200 and two chidren) you may no longer qualify unless there are other factors such as child-care costs or disability in the household. If your income is not in that bracket, it could be an administrative error. Hope you get it sorted out.

Thanks! I am far below that income.

It's just so unexpected because nothing has changed. Confused

Angry A letter from hmrc was returned because they sent it to my old address, so they suspended my claim. I had updated my address on their website several months ago. Hmm

If it's an address problem then you should be able to get it fixed via the Helpline. Did you get the post redirected when you moved or would it be worth doing at this stage?

Nightmare! I sympathise they did the same to me, Unfortunatley rather than back date the payment they usually just add up what's left of your award to the end of tax year and then divide it over the number if weeks. In my case it meant I received an extra £4 a week.

On 28th 2015 i wasnt paid my disability tax credit. Am a monthly earner who survive on tax credit and my wages is £19,200.00. I called them but one of the staff said i earn too much. What should I do since i know £25,000 is the maximum limit before they stop your claim?

FlabulousChix · 06/06/2015 12:04

Disability tax credits stop at around 19k mine went down from 46 a week to 3.50 I earn just over 18k

Help... I received a letter off concentrix saying they may have over paid my child tax credits (nursery fees) for the last tax year 14-15 and they need copy invoices for that period.... I did as they asked and sent the invoices recorded delivery, next I got a letter saying I hadn't sent what they had asked for and they would amend my tax credits without them.... I phoned them up after trying for 3 days and using £20 credit on my phone , the lady I spoke to said they had received my invoices they just hadn't put them on the system and to wait for a new letter... In the mean time my weekly payment went down to £60 a week that's ment to pay 70% of my nursery fees which are £586 a month... I thought this must be because they thought I'd not sent my invoices .... Anyway I've now had my invoices returned and today got my weekly payment and its gone down even more to £40... I'm a single mum and simply can't afford to put the rest to pay nursery I'm only getting £160 a month towards nursery... If they had over paid last year then I thought they would take a reasonable amount .... I have been phoning and can't get though I was on hold twice for 40 mins today... Has anyone please got any advice on what I should do... My job is on the line if I can't put my son in nursery because I don't have anyone else who can care for him ..

There's a large thread on concentrix in money matters! Join that! There's loads of us unfortunately in your position!!!

nikkif80 · 10/06/2015 22:37

If you have sent proof of childcare and invoices how can they reduce your payments unless it's taking back an overpayment ?

Where your invoices accurate or does seem like they've stopped the whole lot
