Termtime Dates

Hi I work in a University doing Termtime only 32 Weeks!
Apparantly said dates should be worked between April and March.
A new member of staff was assigned the task of compiling the Term dates and not understanding the criteria, over the last few years the dates have run out and ended up running May to May!
It has now been picked up and I am now been asked to work a five week shortfall all in this year in essence this year I will work 37 weeks between 18th May and 22nd March to correct this error, I worked the pattern they set me in good faith, this will now affect my childcare arrangements.
So I am asking can they ask me to repay this time, and how far are they allowed to go back?

Sorry I don't know the answer. But I have always found ACAS really useful for issues like this. You can phone them up for free and ask them...I have always found them really helpful and friendly.
