Dp dumped me 2 weeks ago
We have 2 children
He earns approx 22 000 per year
What would be a suitable amount to request per month for the children?
We would prefer to sort it out between us without involving solicitors

Also please any advice on where to begin with benefit enquiries /entitlement?

20 % of his net income(after tax & pension contributions) would be the CSA figure.

You asked where to start with benefit inquiries. The Turn2Us Benefit Calculator is a really good resource. Complete the online form with your details and it will give you a very good idea of what you may be entitled to and how you should go about applying for it. Income from child benefit and maintenance payments is not included when calculating entitlement to tax credits.
