Pregnant and will be unemployed in 3 months time, what will happen then?

Hi, I'm currently working on a temp contract. It will come to an end the beginning of June. I am currently 7 weeks pregnant. My partner works. Once I'm unemployed again, what will happen then? I'm unsure of whether I can claim any benefits, like jobseekers or something. I'm due in October so will probably only be able to work til August I'd imagine. I'm just really worried that we'll really struggle when it comes to the time, so would love to hear if anyone has had similar experiences or know of what I can do?

You need to see if you qualify for contributions based jobseekers which (I think) you can usually claim on for 6 months. If your partner is working then you're unlikely (depending on his income) to qualify for income based jobseekers.

Also check out whether you're eligible for Maternity Allowance when the baby's born - it's based on National Insurance contributions during a certain period. Again, I'm not sure exactly what the terms are but it's definitely worth checking.

Thank you suzi! I honestly have no clue on what to do lol so that's a great help. I shall have a look into those. I've not claimed benefits whilst I've been with my DP so I wasn't entirely sure how things would work.
