No Win No Fee solicitors.....

Anybody ever used one?

DP is taking his ex employers to a tribunal for Unfair/constructive Dismissal.

He has been told by CAB and a local solicitor that he has a very good case indeed, with aot of evidence, contract breaches etc.

We saw an advertin our local paper..he called them they took a the basis of the 'goings on' and came back to him this week to say they had found two Solicitors willign to take it on.

He needs to sign the 'purchase order form' to say he agrees to them taking upto 25% plus vat of his payout/settlement. The solicitor they choose to cover the case will then arrange to meet them next week and get the case together ball rolling etc.

I was rather dubious until we were told it's pretty kosha. And the local solicitor who cannot help us (due to lack of finance...and no legal aid avaialable to cover employment issues/tribunals) said so.

Just womdered if anyone had experiences of NO WIN NO FEE's

Thanks xxxxx

if you didn't use them, would you be entitled to legal aid? or represent yourself?

would you otherwise be paying a solicitor?

no win no fee places ARE kosher, but what they don't mention is that you may still have to pay costs.
if you had to pay costs AND a quarter of what you won then it'd be pretty pointless
