Hi all, need a bit of advice. Had a huge phone bill from vodafone in december for 150 pound that I have been disputing up until now (they are adamant they are right and I am wrong Hmm) anyway I have decided that I'm going to pay them as they have sent my account to debt collectors even though I know the bill wasn't right! Trouble is I now owe them £250 and counting! I've agreed to give them 200 in a month but realistically I can't afford that as I'm a single mum on benefits. Any advice on this? Can I offer them what I can afford? Or will they send my account to debt collectors if I do this? So worried about it all just want it resolved

Hi daniJade

If you cannot afford to pay the £200 you can offer to pay in instalments.

Can you pay £25 per month over 10months? You might have to send them an income and expenditure to them. you can find one here www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/budget_sheet.php?country=england_wales&time=monthly

you can also find template letter to send to them offering your monthly payment and asking them to freeze interest and charges.

I hope this helps :-)

Why do you dispute the bill?

DaniJade1990 · 17/02/2012 16:43

I disputed the bill for a number of reasons, the two main ones being there were add ons on the bill which I never requested (they have removed them now) and a few numbers on there which I do not know or have never rung! The problem is they believe they are right (shock horror) and as I signed a contract with them not really much I can do but pay it :(
