Possible tax credit overpayment - help!

We have just had my husband's tax return back which shows a profit £2500 more than our estimate given to hmrc. We have only just gone into profit and I am expecting to be told we have been overpaid working tax credit. Does anyone know how they work it out and whether this unexpected increase in income will alter our text credits drastically?

If you go to the Online Benefits Checker on the Turn2Us website and enter your declared income and your actual income you should get a good idea what, if anything, you owe them. There are various thresholds rather than a straight line £ for £ exchange so if an extra £2500 doesn't tip you past a threshold you could find your award is very similar.

Thank you. It seem that the extra £2500 tips us just over a threshold. Thank you for the web link and advice.
