Travel Insurance over 80

My Mum and Dad travel to the Far East twice a year. Dad turns 80 this year (V fit and healthy). Anyone got any ideas of the best policies for this age as it goes up quite a lot so I said I would help them tart around and I knew that someone on here would know!

I think I heard that if you take out a bank account (might cost you £12 a month or so) that includes a travel insurance policy with it, then this is the cheapest way to get insurance for this age group. You would however need a bit of a ring around to ensure they don't have exclusions.... or try Saga and see what they suggest.

Saga can often be pricey compared to other companies.

how long do your parents stay abroad?

Thank you - only two weeks at a time

Natwest's advantage gold account usually works really well for this purpose if they go away a few times a year. It's around £13 a month but includes annual travel insurance up to age 80, over this there's a £50 additional annual charge but this is per account so once they are both over 80 (as long as joint account) it will still only be the £50 additional charge each year. Also will need a medical screening via phone but as long as no major health problems they will be covered by this for unlimited worldwide trips (sorted it for my nan a while ago!)
