I have an outstanding balance on a store card and want to get a credit card to clear it off interest free.

would that be a balance transfer or a new purchase?

any suggestions on which card would be best?

TIA

It's a balance transfer you need.

Balance transfer and the best card will be the one offering the longest 0% term and the lowest transfer fee. Try something like moneysupermarket or one of the other comparisons sites to find options. Tip... once set up, put the card itself somewhere safe so you can't use it and set up a DD to pay the entire balance before the 0% period runs out.
