Just went to get some money out and pressd £30 instad of £20. Not a prob usually but my loan goes out tommorow and it is £104 odd and now ther is only £102 odd in there.

I could slap myself. Will get charged £25 now for being a couple of quid short.

Rang my dad to ask him to transfer me a fiver but he is not in ARGH

Call the bank, some will help some won't but it's worth it isn't it? I'm sure you know but the interest rates/charges stink!

munz · 13/01/2006 16:02

lloyds don't I know that u have a £10 buffer zone. it's if they'll pay it or bounce it I think.

mumatuks · 13/01/2006 16:03

oh poo, which bank you with? I know Halifax are a bunch of thieves for charging you with over drawing.
Have you got online banking? If you have two accounts could you transfer some over? Thats instant isn't it? I always have £20 in my savings one just incase I do what you've just done.

chjlly · 13/01/2006 16:05

If it is due out tomorrow surely it won't go til monday now - can you get there on Monday & pay cash in (that's my normal trick!)

nutcracker · 13/01/2006 16:28

I bank with Barclays and don't have a buffer zone or anything anymore as I changed back to a basic account.

I am not sure if they will take it tommorow or not.

Will it work if i go and pay in £5 on monday ? The money goes out first thing though ?

are there no barclays near you, or friends/family, that open on a saturday or have one of those machines that you can pay cash into ?

PeachyClair · 13/01/2006 16:51

Monday won't work, they take then charge you.

Pay cash tomorrow it MIGHT work, but they could theoretically hang onto it until the next working day - ie Monday.

Hate to say this, but Barclays IME second only to NatWest in general crapness terms. DH is with nationwide and they're so helpful it hurts (Dh was underpaid a few hundred pounds, Nationwide charged loads coz it meant rent bounced and so did all the bills but payslip was delayed so we had no idea. They refunder 2/3 of the charges even though no way was it their fault).

I'm with NatWest, but I HATE them!!!!!!!!!!! After seven weeks and more calls / letters / visits bank card finally turned up today, they accidentally cancelled my PIN so I have to wait for another. No branch here in village. Theya ccidentallyc ancelled last card too, humilliating event in Asda when card removed from my possession by manager and I ahd to get cash. Grrrrrrr.

nutcracker · 13/01/2006 17:14

My nearest barclays aren't open on a saturday
