Clearing Funds - which bank or other organisation is the slowest? Is it the Post Office?

Post Office still haven't cleared the funds I am transferring from my bank account into my online post office account. Eight working days and counting. If there is anyone with the knowledge (if a post office employee, great!) - please can you tell me about the process. The funds are to buy a house so you can imagine what upset it will cause to a number of families. Where are my funds while they are being transferred. Is there a remote possibility that they are being used by the Post Office in the meantime? Would like to hear of any one else's bad experiences.

Shouldn't take more than 3 working days as long as it was a direct bank transfer eg not a cheque or anything. When did you send the funds? Do they have up to date contact details for you, if it's a large amount you have transferred it may be being investigated to ensure it's not fraud / money laundering. I'd suggest ringing them tomorrow.
