Hi, I have been to cab and been told of any benefits i can claim as a single parent , my question is about housing benefit i own a house with my h but moved out due to his unreasonable behaviour i now rent a property.
The cab said id get some help towards my rent but after ringing up the hb i'm worried i may not as they class the house as an asset although it's not sold! any advice as i'm really worried as i don't earn a fantastic amount.

In a way CAB are right. If you part own the house then it is technically a personal asset which counts in the case of certain benefits. Do you have plans to get a divorce and sell the property?

Yes but it may take a while to sell.
