Income tax rebate?

I became a SAHM in August, which I imagine means I must be due some sort of tax rebate, as my tax code would have been calculated based on the assumption that I would work for the full tax year.

Do I need to apply for the rebate, or will it happen automatically. Now or in April?

Thank you

If you can honestly say that you are not going to do any paid employment between now and April 2012 then you can claim a tax rebate on your earnings up to August now. Claiming Overpaid Tax when stopping work

Hmm.

I became a SAHM in March following redundancy and have just had a letter stating I owe £50 in tax.

Confused
