Just tried increasing my overdraft to avoid trouble ahead, I have a Direct Debit coming out tomorrow and not enough in there.

I misunderstood and increased it to £300 rather than by £300. It has changed my overdraft to -£300 , not the £2300 I needed to change to. I am now £1900 over my overdraft limit Shock Shock Shock

There is no helpline open until the morning, will they understand do you think if I explain ? I'm worried sick now, can't sleep.

Any way you can change it a second time to what you really want?

MrsChristmasDB · 17/11/2011 00:08

Can you not go back into the site and increase it ?

Don't know that helpline will work, as DDs tend to come out early. Sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear.

All I can suggest is that you try to increase it (although I'm guessing you already have), and if you can't, call the bank as soon as open.

They should have a record of what you have done, I am sure that you will be able to sort something out if you call and explain.

Yes, i tried to increase it but it said that I can't by such a large amount, I have never really had to speak to the bank before about a problem like this, will they be sympathetic and see what I did wrong ?

I would imagine they will be sympathetic.

I should think when you call they will see that your o/d has decreased and wonder what has gone on, and you can explain.

Hope it all works out for you.

Just wondered if everything was alright today, recall ?

recall · 17/11/2011 16:23

Not really, they had to contact the underwriters who were going to let me know if they could reverse it. Havnt heard anything yet, have a direct debit coming out tomorrow, they won't honour it, I can't cancel it Sad

Oh no, what a pain.

Can you give them a ring and 'remind' them ?

soandsosmummy · 18/11/2011 09:06

How did you get on OP hope you can sort it, what a nightmare
