Hi mumsnets
My bank has recommended to download 'trusteer rapport'.
Does anyone have any experience or opinions on this security software?
Many thanks in advance

My bank keep recommending it too but I've heard stories of it being a PITA so will watch with interest...

I used to have a Nat West account that offered something like that. My firewall and anti-virus software went a bit la-la after I downloaded it so I removed it again!

Sunday Times did an article on Trusteer Rapport at three weeks ago, they advised against it as having it as it being on your computer suggests you do on-line banking. It took their hacker exactly 30 seconds to get round the security controls. Much better to make sure your security software and firewall are up to date and if possible use a bank that uses drop down menus as these are harder to track than keystrokes.
