Dp has had over £1000 stolen from his account in what looks like a skimming scam. We have reported it to police and bank and will speak to their fraud team tomorrow. has anyone been through this? Did you get your cash back?

DP got skimmed. We reported it to bank, they said report to police which we did. Bank investigated and then we got our money book.
Whole process took maybe 2-4 weeks can't remember as not much money was involved. We were with the Woolwich.

what's skimming?

Klauz33 · 23/12/2005 22:13

When you buy something in a shop or restaurant and why you are not looking they "skim" all the info out of your card by putting it through a special machine. They then make a duplicate card and use that to buy goods or services.

Often they try out a card by using it to make telephone calls in a public phone box to see it is a valid card.

ahhhh yes... my brother had that happen to him! he got all his money back... he could prove that he had been somewhere about 200miles away when the fraudulent transactions took place
