I'm writing this for a friend. Her brother is working in the Oman as a building contractor, and has been there for 4 years. A while back he was knocked off his motorbike by an Omani national. My friends brother was angry, and asked him "Are you f*ing blind?".

It now appears the the Omani national has reported Mark to the police, and he has been charged with "acism against an Omani national". He is due to appear in court today, and has had his passport and documentation taken away from him. There has been no contact from him since yesterday.

Does anyone know what may happen next, or what is likely to happen? My friend is distrought (sp?). Thanks for reading.

talk to his employer and the British consulate. He should already be registered with them if he's resident in Oman.

Did he have a lawyer? Did he inform the consul of the court case? (I seriously hope so on both counts)
