Life assurance?

From another thread in AIBU that i wrote. Some one advised there is something called life assurance, only it works like a saving scheme and if you dont die you get your money back.

Have you heard of this? i cannot find it online

Companies used to offer these, endowment policies for mortgages were this sort of scheme. It's more the reverse of what you were told, it's an investment on the stock market with a life assurance policy attached. There are very few companies who still offer these due to the massive endowment mis-selling scandal, if you can find any who will offer you it, it will be a very expensive option, you would probably find it more cost-effective to put some money into a saving plan and also purchase separate life assurance.
