Statutory Maternity Pay question

According to Direct.gov, tax and NI are deducted from SMP, but does anyone know what the net payment amount is, rather than the gross £128 a week? I'm trying to sort out a budget, but really need to know what I'll actually be left with.

Depends on your tax code and how much you have earned for the year to date, but most people on a 'normal' tax code of 747L should actually get a tax refund of £3 each week. NI is zero at £128.73 a week except in very limited circumstances (for instance if you are a director).

Probably around £100 I would imagine, maybe a bit less.

Ignore me then, obviously I have no idea.
