Don't order from Trekmate

Hello has anyone out there recently ordered anything on-line from Trekmate.co.uk? I'm waitng for a Mac Pac baby carrier ordered and paid for on their website on October 1st. They profess to be refurbishing the shop in Covent Garden on their website (which is still taking orders) but when I phoned local businesses nearby they thought they'd ceased trading - no evidence of any work going on. The phone numbers don't work and no response from e-mails. DON"T ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM. On further investigation Companies House are withdrawing them for non submission of accounts. No evidence of insolvency so far though - not sure how I'm going to find evidence for my credit card company for re-imbursement. Anyone had similar?

Hi fellow trekmate victim, yes I have had exactly the same experience as you. I placed an order for an expensive sleeping bag (expensive to me anyway) on Oct 3. The money was out of my account by Oct 5. and then nothing. I managed to speak to a guy named Neil 3 or 4 weeks back who claimed to have supplier issues - he suggested choosing another brand or waiting a bit longer. After that dead phones, non returned mail (both varieties)and increasing irritation.

The good news: I contacted my credit card company explaining this - their response was simple! The contract had been breached since Trekmate had failed to supply the goods within 30 days. They weren't particularly interested in the insolvency element but did take details. They said they would reclaim the monies paid, from the bank involved in the original transaction. To my amazement and great relief the full amount was credited back to my account in less than 24 hours.
