I currently work 16hrs a week as a single mum and claim HB and tax credits. I've been offered a new job at my sons school which is 10hrs a week but would obviously be better for me as i wouldn't have to find child care during the school holidays.
My question is would i still be able to claim tax credits and if not then what do i claim?/

Thanks x

This Benefits Checker is a great way to run a few 'what ifs' and get a pretty good answer

im single mum too and work 16 hrs a week ang get tax cedits but not HB. if you drop your hours from 16 you will still get tax credits but just not the £70 working element. you will continue to get child element.

you will not be entitled to income support or such like.
