Nosey money Question

seb1 · 28/06/2011 22:41

Was reading some other threads where people put household expenses on and I thought I paid an "average" council tax and was quite frugal on the gas and electricity but have just realised how bloody expensive heating is in the cold northern end of the country. So I am £225 council tax and £125 Gas and electricity a month. So being a bit nosey how does that compare.

£277 council tax
£190 electricity
£200 heating and water (SO so covers winter)

OvO · 28/06/2011 22:45

I can't remember what my council tax is (but i think its less than yours) but I pay an average of £125 a quarter for my gas and same again for electricity. I'm in cold Scotland. I had my heating on last week as it's been so cold!

OvO · 28/06/2011 22:47

Just checked and my council tax (which includes the water bill) is £150 a month.

bellavita · 28/06/2011 22:47

£180 council tax a month
£37 Electric and £28 Gas - these are the last payments made. They can vary as we do our readings monthly and pay monthly.

seb1 · 28/06/2011 22:49

£109 council tax - doesn't it depend entirely on what band you are in?
Gas £75 a month
Elec - £45 a month

both these have gone up recently.

water £34 a month

AgentProvocateur · 28/06/2011 22:50

250 council tax and 180 gas & leccie. Also in Scotland, and also had the heating on until last week. For comparison, remember that Scottish council tax includes water, which is a separate bill in England.

OvO · 28/06/2011 22:52

I took my dc to the park a few weeks ago and they were wearing wooly hats and gloves! Where's my summer?!

seb1 · 28/06/2011 22:58

Summer was 2 hours one afternoon in April.

Ah, I probably had an afternoon nap and missed it.

NunSoQueer · 28/06/2011 23:00

£40 leccy pm
£115 gas pm

CogitoErgoSometimes · 29/06/2011 05:19

Council tax £157 (but I get a 25% single person discount). Combined gas/electric £92. That's for a three-bed semi if it helps.

ragged · 29/06/2011 06:21

170/month on Council.
44 quid/month lekki.
Heating is oil, about 50 quid/month?
Big det. 4 bed house, 6 people, but we keep temps down and turn everything off when not in use.

ragged · 29/06/2011 06:23

Ooh! just realised 9 quid/month or so of that is the hot water, so only in summer months, too. Might be 36 quid/month or so on electric, without the immersion heater.

EttiKetti · 29/06/2011 06:33

CTax £100 but only band A!
Gas/elec £96/mth, large 3 bed terraces house, not particularly frugal, well I am, but the others aren't!!

TheHumanCatapult · 29/06/2011 06:46

We pay 150 a month council tax, 140 for gas and leccy and 20 a month on water. We have a four bed Victorian house in the SE - hopefully our gas will come down when we have our new windows fitted because it's a money pit to heat in the winter at the moment!
