I'm a single parent and i work 16hrs a week. I'm going into hospital in 2 weeks time and the surgeon says i will be away from work for 3-6 weeks. The problem i have is i've already had lots of time off with this problem already and work will no longer pay me so i'll only be getting SSP which i believe is about £15 a day. It means my monthly wage will half but i still have bills to pay (obviously) Is there anything else i can claim while i'm only getting SSP? Thanks everyone

I assume you are claiming/getting tax credits etc - you might get more as your income is going down for those weeks
