Well I do but not as much as he thinks I do!!

Filled in my self assessment which took ages as I was made redundant with a tax free element and my company screwed it up loads of times so I had about 4 p45's!! Had to ring the helpline to complete it and now it seems I have still done it wrong!!
They think I owe them £13,000 for last year and £13,000 for next year (apparently this is based on last years owed tax!!)
Having spent about 45 mins on the phone to them this morning it turns out (after taking advice from them) that I have put my redundancy payment in the wrong box and therefore I am being taxed twice!! So now I have to write to them and hope it gets processed before the end of Jan when £13,000 is due.
And then they have to send me some forms to declare that I am not earning this tax year to ensure that I don't have to pay half of the £13,000 due for next year by end of Jan and hope that they get processed in time too!!

Sorry if this is not making any sense but just needed to rant!!

bellie fill the forms in and send them in by fax, then ring the person and ask them if they have received your fax, so they can begin processing it.

Thanks for the tips - I have got over the shock now (after a few glasses of wine) and hopefully will have it sorted soon.
