Can I keep these items?

A few weeks ago I ordered an item from a well known mail order company.

It didn;t turn up with the other things I ordered at the same time. I queried this and was told that the item was probably lost so they would send another.

As we were going to be away I rang again to ask them to deliver to a different address.

When we returned they had delivered three of the items. The original one, the replacement to my address, and a replacement to the other address.

I have rung the company twice to ask them to arrange collection of the unwanted items, and each time have been informed a courier would contact me, which they haven't.

They have not billed me for the extra items.

Does anyone know, have I given them sufficient notice etc to collect the items, so can I now assume that I can use / dispose of them, or should I put something in writing?

I am thinking I will keep quiet now, having rung them twice.

Send them a letter (by recorded delivery) saying they have 7 days to collect or else. If they havent collected by 7 days - do what you like with them. Thats not a professional opinion - just what i would do.

After a certain period of time the items legally become yours - either 3 or 6 months, can't remember which!

But you have contacted the company and told them you have the items, it is now up to them to collect them. I wouldn't bother contacting them again.

I wouldnt worry about it..... just keep em safe for a few months and then if they do nothing, keep em!

I had that once with amazon...

i got an email saying thanks for my order (I SWEAR TO GOD i NEVER ordered this really random book! or had even seen it before)

I emailed them trying to cancel it as soon as i got the email, but couldnt cancel it as it was being dispatched.... said id have to send it back when i got it (and ME pay postage _

anyway after 2 weeks it hadnt arrived so i called amazon...

they credited my account etc

yhen about a week later it arrived anyway.... so i kept it....

i figured i didnt want it and did my best to ensure they didnt post it to me, they insisted anyway, so id keep it regardless.
