Swiftcover & Direct Debit - where do we stand?

My car is insured with Swiftcover - premium is £33 a month and it's paid by direct debit.

This month, they have taken £77 out of my account without asking first as they say its to cover 'admin costs' associated with the fact they don't have the no-claims proof from previous insurer - this is despite the fact it was both posted and e-mailed to them weeks ago.

Anything I can do - they refuse to refund it, only re-adjust my premium accordingly. Thing is, I needed that money so it's very annoying.

Complain again in writing, asking for the money back, enclosing evidence that the no-claims proof was posted and e-mailed. Threaten to take your complaint to the insurance obudsman (I'm guessing, you'll need to check there is such a thing) if they do not refund the money taken in error.
