Expired MOT

A friend was involved in an accident where someone hit the back of her car. They admitted all responsibility but my friend has just realised that her MOT expired 3 weeks ago (she's got a 4mnth old and a 2 yr old so forgets things like that!)so now she's worried that she could get into trouble with the insurance claim etc as the car shouldn't legally have been on the road. Does anyone know anything about this? Would she have to produce her MOT cert for insurance paperwork etc?

Not 100% certain but assuming the other driver accepts liability, then she shouldn't have to produce documents. I think she should go and get her MOT done now though.

Was her car badly damaged?

But doesn't no MOT invalidate your insurance, cod?
