Woohoo - slowly starting to get agreements with our creditors!

DH spoke to our mortgage lenders today - and they've agreed a payment plan to pay off the 4 months mortgage arrears which we've accrued.

We'll have to pay £200 extra a month (from December) until February, and then £300 the following month - then we'll look at it again with them to work out the rest of the payments.

The Anglian (or Anglican as I keep calling them by mistake ) water people have agree a 3 month payment plan (starting in December) to catch up with the payment we should have paid this month.

We've gone for the more expensive car option, but we've got a 3 month payment break, which will allow us to catch up on other things in the meantime.

Even DH admitted today he could start to see some light at the end of the tunnel

Oh nice QoQ!
Glad your dh is cheering up.

well of course it was all to good to be bl**dy true. The bank called today (we're getting used to this Monday night call at the end of every month.......) to tell us the loan payment had been sent back.

Annoying - but not the end of the world - we have the Tax Credits coming in later this week, so when they try again it'll be there.

THEN they told us the TV Licence was due to go out tomorrow........errm no it's not - DH called up and cancelled the direct debit last week (will be coming out of my account now)....apparently we cancelled the direct debit - but not the payment????? - so it'll be going out tomorrow regardless.

Black Horse (who we have the car hire purchase with) are having their account settled tomorrow when we pick up the new car (Ford Ka......we currenly have a Ford Mondeo...) - however the next payment was also due to go out. HOWEVER, Black Horse told us (and the garage we're dealing with - BTW - can highly recommend Winslow Ford in Rushden - VERY HELPFUL) that although the payment would probably be taken - it would be refunded almost straight away. The bank have said no, and because of the extra charges they'll be whacking on for the loan refusal and the TV Licence there won't be enough money for the Car Insurance either (which we'll be paying less on - as we're getting a smaller car).

The Garage had told DH not to cancel the DD for the car, but he's had to - so now we don't even know if he'll be able to pick it up tomorrow or not.

I just want to cry atm, money is like a yoyo (although because we've switched the child benefit - and I've got £70 coming into my account from my paypal account we DO have money for food this month), my church music stuff (which is usually my 'retreat' when things are getting me down) I'm fed up with at the moment (long story but basically most of the ADULTS in the choir don't see any reason to let me know if they won't be at choir practice).

Is this ever going to get any better

Oh no, it sucks doesn't it.

We are in the same position and it does get me so down sometimes.
Have a had to do a bit of juggling with bills today to make sure we had food money.

It's just so CRAP

But you have to remember it will get better. If i stopped remembering that i'd go mad.

moondog · 01/11/2005 08:36

Qof Q..not long to go until you're in your new job. That will make a big big difference.
(What will you be doing btw?)

HRHQoQ · 01/11/2005 13:35

moondog - I'll be a night care assitant.

Well we had some more good news today - a fantastic NTL offer, if we upgrade our telephone package to the Talk Unlimited (for £14.50 a month) we'll get FREE Digital TV for a whole YEAR - including free instalation. Our last phone bill with NTL was £26, and we're currently paying £20 for Sky - so that's being installed on Saturday

well DH had his appointment at CAB this morning and they made up a financial statement showing all out income, outgoings and priority and non-priority debts, and listing the payments we're going to be offering our creditors.

Quite scary looking at how much we owe overall, - especially as after out essential outgoings and prority debts we only have £177 to share around the rest of the them, but on the other hand reassuring to see it all written down in one place.
