Child tax credits

Hi

Our income is slightly under £50000 pa, we currently receive about £10 per week in tax credits. As we are above the new £40000 threshold from 6th April we will no longer be entitled to anything. I received a payment today as normal, should I just assume that that will be the last one? I haven't had any mail regarding this, and I don't want them to keep paying me and then send me a bill in 6 months!

Thank you

you will get your renewal pack through shortly but in the meantime they will assume your income is unchanged so your award for the new year will reduce to nil and so you'll get nothing.

This is what should happen anyway but hmrc aren't the best so if you do carry on receiving stick in in a savings accounts for when you have to pay back
