Dh was made redundant at the end of June and still does not have a job. He is claiming job seekers allowance. Things are really really slow in his industry and one possibiliy is retraining for a different career. Does anyone know anything about benefits if he decided to retrain (I presume he would have to go to college or something, though perhaps an apprentice type thing would be possible). Has anyone been in this situation. We live in central london, have a hefty mortgage and high living expenses so I am starting to get worried.
