Both me and my husband work full time and want to start a family and I get 6 months full maternity pay, can anyone share advice on what benefits I can claim, working from home, childcare vouchers etc.

You are entitled to SMP for a further three months - about £120 ish per week but I don't think you can work while claiming.

Childcare vouchers max £243 per month which is like a salary sacrifice. Is your company registered for this. CTC and WTC if your income (joint) is less than about £41 K for 2011-12 and Child benefit £81 every four weeks

I have probably missed something

There is a good website called Turn2Us where you can run a few 'what if' scenarios and judge what's available. However, especially at the moment, there are some big changes happening to benefits and they are possibly not the most solid foundation on which to plan a family.

For that reason, I'd suggest that you also work hard between now and starting your family to reduce any debt you may have & substantially build up your savings. Good luck
