Hiya

Would like some info please, before dh pops off to work at 7.15 so he is armed and ready, as they (psychopaths? film directors? who knows) say

Dh had four days off work sick last month. he works a four on / four off shift pattern. On the last day he telephoned to say that he was now available for work, and spoke to his Line Manager. That was all OK. he had the four dyas off he was scheduled to take (he's have gone in if asked to cover, but wasn't) then had three days BOOKED and OKAYED holiday, booked way before.

Went to check pay slip, he was deducted £400. Apparently, because he had holiday that counts as a ten day stretch, even though he notified them.

They said it was OK for them to do this. It leaves us with £120 for the rest of the month, work petrol alone costs that, even before food etc.

How do we stand legally?

Thanks, dh is going to go in tomorrow. I bet he'll have a fight on- manager conveniently goes into hospital tomorrow, but he works for TNT so i guess someone there can sort it!

tarantula · 20/10/2005 16:54

they really are serious shits tho for doing that. Im sure it cant be legal. Id give em hell

PeachyClairPumpkinPie · 20/10/2005 16:57

This is the company that thought it was Ok for a manager to slam Dh up against a wall and threaten to kill him, and for another manager to kick him repeatedly (complained about second manager, too scared about first as he had GBH convictions- both now gone but for other reasons)

Does not surprise me one bit.
